Meet The Team

Artistic Director & Head Trainer
Dr Kristy Seymour. BA, MA hons(1), PhD.
Kristy is the founder of Circus Stars and creator of the Circus Stars method. Kristy began her career in circus in 2000 after completing her BA in Theatre and then went on to become a professional circus artist. Kristy has an extensive background in Youth circus ( since 2003) and social circus, she has worked using circus as a tool for social intervention and as a therapeutic outlet since 2008, working with a diverse range of community groups including refugee children, indigenous youth and children with disabilities. She began working with autistic children in 2010 and soon after completed her research thesis that would shape the foundations of the Circus Stars program.

Lead Trainer
Rhett Morrow
Rhett is our Lead trainer and has worked on the Circus Stars program since 2014. A professional circus artist he began his training as member of the Flipside Circus Performance troupe and then went on to train at the Beijing Circus School. Rhett has a vast skill set and brings a wealth of experience and energy to our classes. He acts as a mentor to our trainee and Junior trainers sharing his expertise and knowledge and is also a well respected children's entertainer!

Junior Trainer
Jaron
Jaron is a member of the Elevate Advanced Troupe and was one of Circus Stars very first students! He began training with Circus Stars in our pilot program in June 2013. Since then Jaron has worked hard to develop his circus skills and is an accomplished juggler and budding acrobat. He is also a seasoned thespian, regularly performing in local theatre shows.

Trainee Junior Trainer
Lily
Lily is a member of our Elevate Advanced Troupe. She began training at Circus Stars in 2017 and loves learning Lyra and Hula hoops. Lily recently began her training as a Junior Assistant Trainer, she brings a bright and vibrant energy to the Circus Stars space.

Guest Trainer
Nichole Conolly MAut (UOW)
Nichole is an autistic educator with a passion for ensuring her students reach their fullest potential. After falling in love with and joining the circus in their early teens, she honed her skills in clowning, static trapeze, and plate spinning under the tutelage of the renowned Ashton Circus Family. Her favourite part of performing is the energy it gives her and the smiles on the faces of the audience. When they aren’t involved in the brilliant art of circus, they can be found working as a Teacher Aide to a diverse range of amazing school students.
